Expanding Your Library with Upcoming PS3 Games
Expanding Your Library with Upcoming PS3 Games
So you bought a PS3 at launch and was kind of bored with the game selection at the time. You got Resistance and a few other titles, and then you immediately picked up Metal Gear Solid 4 as soon as it came out. Problem is, sometimes it might have felt that you didn’t have nearly enough PS3 titles coming out compared to the Xbox 360. A game console is only as strong as the game library it supports, and so at times, your PS3 might have been collecting dust simply because you were bored with it. Well, no longer! So many upcoming PS3 games will be released in the coming months that you will never turn your PS3 off again.
Huge Names
Franchises like Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, and Killzone all have upcoming PS3 games that will revitalize this console and drive sales upwards. Killzone 2 is already being hailed as a “masterpiece,” and from the early reviews, it exceeds the huge hype that it’s enjoyed for years now. Originally introduced by a technical demo showcasing the PS3’s impressive power, this upcoming PS3 game promises to deliver breathtaking graphics in a game that is simply jaw dropping on every single imaginable level, matched on consoles perhaps only by that other instant classic, Metal Gear Solid 4.
Resident Evil 5, another upcoming PS3 game to be released very shortly, follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, Resident Evil 4, which departed from the other titles in the series in several important ways. Firstly, the perspective was changed to over the shoulder third person, a large change from the original fixed camera positions for every location. This change allows for more action, and while some gamers claim that it cuts down on the survival horror aspect of the titles, it does make the games more action packed and full of zombie (or otherwise infected) carnage.
Lastly, the ever popular Final Fantasy series will soon be releasing its thirteenth main title in an upcoming PS3 game simply titled Final Fantasy XIII. Lush graphics polish off what we can all safely expect to be a fantastic story, deep character development, and many hours of gameplay. Final Fantasy games often offer several times the amount of gameplay that Western roleplaying games allow with perhaps the notable exceptions from Bethesda, but the only downside is a dearth of player generated content (mods) to extend the gameplay. What you see is what you get with no options to expand the game, but that downside doesn’t detract from this upcoming PS3 game in the slightest.
