Traveling internationally can be fraught with hassles especially if the individual is not prepared for any of the possible things that may happen. There are many things that should be remembered when traveling and among these are the things which need to be brought from the home. International travel hassle may start even before leaving home. There are so many things to check on before making any international travel plans.
Travel Documents And Advisories
It is always wise to check on one’s passport and visas before even trying to book am international flight. Passports and visas usually have expiry dates which may conflict with the schedule that you want to travel. Some countries also issue international travel advisories to their citizens. These international travel advisories are sort of warnings regarding which countries may be currently dangerous for certain nationalities or which countries may have health hazards. Almost all international travel advisories are regarding personal safety of the individual but these do not usually restrict the individual from actually going to the country.
Personal Belongings
Keep in mind that hand carried luggage have limitations with regards to weight and size. For international travel, the limits are usually slightly more than domestic, anywhere between 15 kilograms to 20 kilograms per hand carried baggage per person. Restrictions for liquids, gels and dangerous substances apply not only of international travel but also for domestic travel in hand carried luggage or bags. These should be stored in the luggage bound for the cargo hold. There is a limit as to the amount of currency a person may bring on himself when entering different countries.
For those with prescription medicines, it is wise to bring the prescription in case of questions regarding medication that the individual may be bringing during international travel. Bring extra pairs of contact lenses if wearing these just in case they get washed away when put swimming and prescription glasses should also have a spare.
Leaving passports and other travel documents in the hotel safe may be a wise decision if the hotel is a reputable one, otherwise, it may be safer for the individual to keep the international travel documents with him. Care should be given to these and look out for pickpockets and thieves. It may be difficult to get new ones in a foreign country.
During international travel, monies should not all be in the wallet in case of pickpockets or accidentally losing it. List down the international numbers of credits cards in case of loss and always bring a cell phone when able.
