Choosing a Stapler: Three Things to Consider
Since there are so many staplers on the market, it can be somewhat challenging to pick the one that’s just right for your needs. Should you get a handheld or manual one? Which brands are reputable? And how much should you spend? And so on. Luckily, we’ve made a list of the three most important things to consider when choosing your stapler. Here they are….
1.) Brand name. Choosing a product from a reputable manufacturer is always a good idea. But with so many staplers on the market, it can be difficult to know which companies are the best. Two names you should look for are Dahle Novus and Swingline. Dahle’s products are ideal for professional use while Swingline offers staplers that are good for use at home, school, and the workplace. You can’t go wrong with a product from these companies because they’re known for making high-quality devices that get the job done right the first time.
2.) Stapling capacity and method. There are really just two kinds of staplers: manual and electric. Manual ones are great for everyday stapling while their electric counterparts are generally better for large jobs and heavy-duty fastening. You’ll want to select a device that can staple enough sheets together so you can avoid jams and the like. Also, you should check to see if your desired unit can open up for tacking and/or if it’s large enough to do center stapling. If you don’t take these things into account, you’re likely to end up with a device that doesn’t fully fit your needs.
3.) Price and warranty. Finally, keeping your budget in mind is really important. You should spend more than your budget allows, but you also should try to get the best stapler you can for your money. There’s really no point in buying the cheapest stapler available if you’re just going to have to replace it in a short amount of time. So be sure to get high-quality product at a price you can afford. Also, be sure to check out your selection’s warranty. Some staplers come with lifetime warranties (a lot of Swingline products do) which is extremely handy.
