Love Handle Exercises – Three Exercises to Help You Get Rid of Love Handles
There are many effective love handles exercises that you can try. Love handles are simply excess fat deposits that are stored around your waist. The best way to get rid of this excess fat is by eating sensibly and exercising. In doing so you will end up burning more calories than your body consumes… this will help you reduce the amount of body fat you have.
Try my favorite love handle exercises:
Leg lifts. These are fairly simple and require no weights. You start these by laying flat on your back with your feet stretched out on a flat surface and touching each other. Make sure to keep your upper body relaxed and lift your legs about 6 inches off of the ground. You should feel tension in your belly… not in your neck or your back. Hold this position for approximately 20 to 30 seconds. Do about 10 to 15 reps of these.
Standing twists. These are good love handle exercises because they are both aerobic and anaerobic. They will get you nice and sore, but they will also work out your muscles. To start this exercise you need to stand with your feet about shoulder width apart. You should be comfortable and feels sturdy… not wobbly on your feet.
Keep your legs and your lower body as still as possible during this exercise. Now raise up your arms as though your boxer defending himself in a fight. Now start twisting left and right with your upper body while leaving your legs and lower body in place. Do these as fast as you can as long as you remain comfortable. Try to shoot for approximately 100 reps of these.
Twisting Crunches. Twisting crunches are a lot like regular crunches. You lie in your back in a sit-up position and bring your left knee to your right arm. You should do these in a twisting motion… it’s like a twist in the crunch mashed together. Alternate this between your left and right side.
You should definitely feel this exercise in your obliques and abs. Make sure you relax your neck and your chin and put all of the effort into your belly. The last thing you want to do is put a lot of strain on your neck. As simple as these may be they are one of my favorite and most effective love handle exercises you can possibly do.
