Derby flooding relief progresses
Those interested in enrolling on a plumbing training course might be intrigued to read that essential work to relieve sewer flooding in Mab Lane, west Derby is progressing well.
United Utilities is building an underground storage tank designed to capture excess water during heavy rainfall in land adjacent to the street.
Project manager Carly Ratcliffe said that the work will be of great benefit to properties which have experienced the distress and inconvenience caused by sewer flooding in the past.
“We have been working closely with the local council and 2020 Liverpool to keep both the traffic management and visual impact to the community woodland to an absolute minimum,” she stated.
Miss Ratcliffe added that the company – which has a turnover of £2 billion – will continue to communicate with customers directly as work progresses and will endeavour to carry out its work as quickly and efficiently as possible.
