Many Different Yoga Exercises
There are different yoga exercises that are done depending on the type of yoga that is being practiced. There are yoga exercises that are best for those who are beginning to practice yoga, such as those that are found in Hatha yoga. These yoga exercises are not as strenuous as other styles and also move more slowly from one pose to the next so that beginners can get the hang of the poses and can make sure to be using proper technique to limit injury and get the most out of each pose. The other styles of yoga exercises are more strenuous to do, moving more quickly or being held much longer than those that are in Hatha yoga.
Other Styles
One style of yoga exercise is called hot yoga. In this style, which is also called Bikram yoga, the practitioners are in a hot room, kept at temperatures between 95 and 100 degrees. In this environment, the people are able to allow their muscles to relax more easily and they are able to sweat profusely, thus allowing toxins to be removed from the body. There are twenty-six poses in the traditional Bikram yoga exercises which are followed in the same order class after class and the series is often repeated three times during the class.
Another style of yoga exercise is called Kundalini yoga. In this style, the poses are held while focusing on the breathing that the person is doing. The breathing is rapid and in conjunction with the poses. The person focuses on how the breathing interrelates to the physical movements. Another practice of yoga exercises that focuses on breathing is the Vinyasa yoga. This practice has a series of poses that are all related to breathing techniques that are used. There are Sun Salutations that are used to begin the class to get the people warmed up, which are repeated in faster succession so that the people’s bodies get warmer and the muscles get looser.
The Ashtanga or power yoga classe are also popular today as they give a fast paced workout to those who participate in them. These yoga exercises are very physically demanding since the poses are quickly moving from one to the next without any breaks to the muscles. There are strict rules in the Ashtanga yoga classes so that the poses are followed in a certain order. In power yoga this order of yoga exercises is not necessarily followed.
