Experiencing the Differing Types of Yoga

There are many different variations of yoga styles that can be found in yoga studios and workout gyms that offer yoga classes. These types of yoga have some basic qualities that are similar to each other, but there is a philosophy that lies behind them that is slightly different from one style to another. Each style uses a series of different poses that are held for varying lengths of time. The different types of yoga also have different breathing techniques that allow users to relax while practicing the yoga styles. There are also other meditation methods that are used in the types of yoga that are practiced, and all of the styles have been around for a long time, some having been practiced in the east for thousands of years.

Styles

One type of yoga that is good for beginners since it is often slower and gentler than the other styles is called Hatha yoga. Hatha yoga is a style on which the other styles follow closely after. Hatha yoga requires people to go through a series of poses that often begin with a Sun Salutation, which helps to get them warmed up. There are often some slow breathing techniques that go along with the poses so that they breathe in during on pose and breathe out during another one.

Another type of yoga is called Vinyasa, which is very similar to Hatha but is more focused on the breathing going along specifically with the poses that are being physically held. Often the poses and breathing are matched perfectly going from one to the next.

Power yoga, which is also called Ashtanga, is a type of yoga that is very intense to perform. It is really fast paced so that the people move from one to the next while concentrating on their breathing. The movements flow into each other and the poses are very difficult to do. The poses are always done in a certain order so that the people practicing it can learn the whole series and do it whenever they want to do so, even in their homes.

Bikram yoga is another type of yoga that is intense, but it is intense in that the poses are held for longer periods of time and the classes are held in very hot rooms, often getting to temperatures of 100 degrees. This allows people to sweat profusely so that the toxins in the body are removed in that manner.
