Award-Winning Homes Available At The Rochedale Estates
Award-winning builder Indigo Homes will showcase two winning homes at FKP’s Rochedale Estates – a housing development that blends environmental conservation with cutting edge technology.
Indigo Homes director Chris La Franchi says the Indigo team is excited to be building in The Rochedale Estates. “We’re in this business to help people build quality homes with less stress and more certainty,” Chris says. “The spirit behind The Rochedale Estates mirrors our belief in style and convenience, so it’s a great match.”
Convenient access
Whether you’re shopping for your first home or need more space for your growing family, The Rochedale Estates is more than just blocks of houses. Here are the essentials:
- It’s located just 12 kilometres south of the Brisbane CBD
- It’s close to schools, the Garden City and Carindale shopping centres and restaurants.
- Integrated transit systems and the nearby Pacific and Gateway motorways make commuting a breeze.
- It has tree-lined streets and 35 hectares of parkland with extensive foot and bike trails
- It has an innovative water management plan to take the strain off local water sources
- It has a koala management plan to protect this vulnerable Australian species from extinction.
Community centre
The planned Lifestyles Centre features stunning architectural design and the amenities you need to keep fit year round in the fully equipped gymnasium, relax in the beach edge pool or challenge your neighbour to a tennis match on one of two courts.
The cafe offers a space to unwind and a place to pick up last minute provisions. The Centre will feature a function room and business centre for the exclusive use of residents and their guests so you can stay a little closer to home.
You’ll also have access to everything digital through the Telstra Velocity platform. Fibre optic cable offers you ultra-fast broadband, digital free to air TV service and multiple fixed line services.
The Rochedale Estates was conceived by leading Australian property and investment group FKP. FKP has built a diverse portfolio over the last 30 years and knows the key to their residential communities is instilling a strong sense of shared identity and belonging.
Award winners on display
Indigo Homes will showcase both the Sierra and the Caribbean 281 at The Rochedale Estates. The homes are planned to open in 2011.
Winner of the QMBA President’s Award in 2006, the Sierra is engineered to fit the challenges of building to a budget on an acreage or corner block.
“We designed the Sierra years ago,” says Chris. “While we’re committed to continuing design innovation, this home is exactly what it should be so we’ve never found reason to change it.”
The Caribbean 281 is a larger version of Indigo’s most popular compact home, the Caribbean 248. It blends an open plan concept for family living downstairs with a private, quieter living area upstairs. It’s ideal for the narrower lot.
The Caribbean 248 recently won the QMBA award for Best Small Lot Home under $400,000 and is a key part of the Indigo Compacts range. Indigo Compacts were developed to address the increasing trend towards smaller lots.
A different design approach
Indigo has spent a lot of time designing new homes that maximise living space inside without sacrificing the living space outside.
This is not easy as it sounds. It takes a different kind of design approach to make internal spaces work hard so there’s absolutely no wasted space.
Indigo Homes colour consultant Janey Dopson deals with new homeowners all day long. She says that the homes in the Indigo Compact Caribbean series are the most popular homes in the Indigo range.
“They love the fact that they can get four bedrooms and two living areas,” Dopson says. “So they really like the version with the separate living area upstairs and the living and al fresco area downstairs.”
Indigo Homes is an award-winning Brisbane-based new home builder with designs for all sites – traditional, sloping, small lot and acreage. You can check out all their new home designs here.
However Indigo Homes does far more than just build homes. They’ve also created the No Surprises Building Book, available free. The book helps you get up to speed on all the steps involved in building a new home, who’s responsible for what, and typical timeframes.
