What You Should Know About H1N1?
HINI is an influenza A virus type and most common reason for flu in the human beings. HINI is endemic in humans and is the source of large number of all seasonal flu. HINI has been considered responsible for flu infections in 2006 when nearly half of the humans had influenza (Barry, 2004). Some strains of HINI are also found to be endemic is pigs, known as swine flu and then in some birds called avian flu. In structure influenza A virus has two types and both of them are categorized according to the type of protein that is found on the virus surface. Two different categories are hemagglutinin (H) and neuraminidase (N). All influenza A virus are based on these categories but the structure nearly differs on case to case basis because of the genetic mutation caused in the genome of virus. The influenza A virus strains are given two numbers, one for H and one for N. This number determines the type of influenza. There are around 16H and more than 9N subtypes of influenza A virus is birds but this number is relatively low in the humans where H1, H2, H3 and N1, N2 are found in humans (Barry, 2004).
There are various ways which can be the source of this virus known as swine flu. Like seasonal virus it moves from human to human and therefore the victim is always quarantine from the other world and it is tried that the patient is seen by only one same person. The major causes for spreading are the coughing and the sneezing of the people who have HINI. Touching the objects has also been considered as a source of contamination of this influenza A virus.
Swine flu was first discovered in April 2009 when outbreak in Mexico was recognized officially by the government. It was believed that the number of the victims through swine flu were many before the government recognized it as a threat (McNeil, 2009). The outbreak caused number of the steps to be taken by the Mexico government including the closure of the offices and public places in order to stop the level of endemic in the humans. World Health Organization then announced that this outbreak is pandemic but also recognized that the injuries that are caused in the victim are not that severe and can be made under control. The flights to Mexico were canceled with the people taking tests in various countries including USA which caused the panic. However, with clear indication that the swine flu is not effective as bird flu and because the bird flu was cured, this would also be cured. Therefore in some parts of the world it is also known as Mexican flu as it started from Mexico.
World Health Organization has also recognized that swine flu cannot cause deaths in the humans. The main impacts on a healthy human can be coughing, sneezing, and sore throats, pain in the muscles and joints and headaches like any other type of flu virus including the seasonal virus.
