Lots of people choose to bulk up first and then go to this method to get stronger afterward. Your muscle gain won’t be as big as before, but the muscles you have will be tougher.
There are only three exercises you need to to do?get strong. In fact, deviating from these three will do harm to your progress. You want to save your energy for only these 3 exercises. You will get strong at a much faster rate.
After your workouts are over, it’s possible that you will want to train more. However, you do need to have vital energy remaining, as you will get stronger more quickly. It’s in your power to skip cardio as well; just avoid other exercises. If you still want to continue cardio, do HIIT once every month or every 2 weeks.
The Deadlifts, Squats, and Benchpress are the three exercises you should try.
Do deadlifts no more than one time a week. Do benchpress and squats twice a week, once heavy and once light. When you use light weight, pay attention to technique and focus on your posture and alignment. Make sure that your lighter weights are used for the second go-round of squats and benchpressing.
You will be doing the classic 5?5 on heavy days and 5?4 on light days. If you can do a full 5?5, increase your weight by 5 lbs for the next workout.
It is absolutely crucial that you don’t train to failure if you want to?get strong. Only attempt a rep if you’re absolutely certain that you will be able to complete it.
