Using The Chadwicks Ultimate Activity Kit
The Chadwicks Ultimate Activity Kit is a great way to inspire creative play in children of all ages. It gives you everything you need to keep children entertained during a rainy afternoon, weekends or school holidays. And with everything supplied in an A3 easy carry plastic case it’s really convenient and perfect to store without things getting lost. Some basic ideas of what you can do are provided below:
Abstract
With card and paper included, try getting your children to use the stencils to draw shapes. Try getting them to use the whole piece of paper of card to put shapes on to make an abstract design.
Once they have the shapes, they can colour some of them in and use the stickers provided to add a 3D effect. This can be done by using the stars, not just singly, but with four or five together to add depth. They can also over lap the gummed squares to add more depth.
Finally they can add sequins to the tops of the gummed paper and stars to add sparkle.
Landscape
Try getting your children to create a landscape. All you need to start is a wavy line across a page. This could be a mountain range. Everything above it is sky. Get your children to start with a night sky. They can colour it, stick stars in it and even sequins to add a shining effect. Don’t forget a moon as well – you can use one of the gummed squares cut to the right shape using the plastic scissiors.
Once they are happy with the sky, your children can move on to colour the mountain range, deciding whether they want them to be mountains or just hills. The animal shapes can be used and pipe cleaners can be use to make fences. Buildings can be created using the gummed squares. By placing the animal shapes carefully, they can create an effect of depth with some of the animals in the foreground. Coloured card or tissue paper can be used to create trees, either close up or in the distance.
Poster
Try getting your children to make a poster using the coloured pens – start with the wording. It can be whatever you want. Once they have the wording, they can colour it in and then use the stickers to highlight and decorate their poster. The stencils can be used the create shapes around the poster which can be filled with sequins to make them stand out.
