There are many article writers, copywriters who make their money by sitting at home and writing. It’s one of the easiest and best jobs you can have. You don’t need any special skills usually. And once you get comfortable writing, you can produce quality content, which earns you more money ultimately.
The best place to start if you’re not a writer yet is freelance job sites and site article directories that pay you per article posted. Join those and start practicing your skills. See if you can make money from it. It can take more than few tries until you get it right and are comfortable with the payout. Everything takes time and there’s always a learning curve. But it will be worth it.
One thing to note is that freelance job sites usually have project posters that are looking for SEO writers. This is very common as in order to rank high in search engines, you need quality original content. So it might be a good idea to study SEO quickly. How to do that? Should you buy a course or DVD package for $1000? Nope. Just Google “SEO writing”, “SEO copywriting” and you’re all set. Read a bunch of articles and soon you’ll be the expert in the area. Learn about LSI, which is a new buzz word in the industry. You’ll be able to say that you have expertise in SEO writing.
Another thing to keep in mind is that if you put too many areas of expertise in those sites, people won’t take you seriously. I often see freelancers stating they’re good at SEO, article writing, graphics design, programming and so on you can’t be expert in all areas. Impossible.
