With this, you have now entered into the 13th week of your pregnancy. You have been nurturing your baby since last 13 weeks. Beginning of this week also marks the beginning of the second trimester of your pregnancy. In this period, you will witness various new changes and symptoms. For most of the women, this is the celebration time. As after this period, the risk of miscarriage is appreciably reduced. Isn’t that great news? This period will commence the appearance of some new symptoms that you would not have experienced up till now in your pregnancy period. The starting weeks of your pregnancy were a bit troublesome. You were experiencing lot of fatigue and nausea. But, starting of this week has put an end over all these old symptoms. You would now experience a new sort of zeal developing in you in spite of the fact that you have gain weight now.
Your tummy is now getting bigger. There is enough space developed inside your uterus that can hold your baby well. However, your fetus till this stage is quiet small. But, still uterus has developed much space that it can hold your developing baby comfortably. You would also be able to get rid of your morning sickness. And for most of the women appetite will start increasing. This will let outsiders predict that you are going to give birth to a young one.
Baby is at the rapid development stage. Your baby is now approximately 2.5 inches long and his weight has reached to 7 ounces. A rapid development is observed at the end of the thirteenth week as by the end of this period your baby will start looking like human and his alien look would be vanished. The head of your baby will be heavier at this stage and also more developed. But, after this period, the rest of the body will also buck up and will start developing at a rapid faster rate than before. The little intestine also starts its functioning with the commencement of the second trimester. Insulin would now be produced by the pancreas which will later help the baby in having proper sugar levels in the body.
Stretch marks can be expected in breasts, hips, buttocks and abdomen. However stretch marks can be avoided if your weight increases at the slow rate. This can be achieved by doing proper exercise regularly and having the well balanced diet.
