American soldiers also helped increase the popularity of this food as they had often seen it while they were serving on the Italian fronts during the war.
Now we find that this food is as popular with the American population as the sport of baseball is. People tend to forget about the origins that it has from way back and only focus on the facts that are associated with the Italian culture.
