Reviewing Rhin-O-Tuff’s KF-50E41 Krimp-Fast Coil Crimper

When you bind with color coils, it’s necessary to crimp (i.e. fold up) the ends of the spine once your document is bound. You can do this with a pair of handheld crimpers (also known as “crimping pliers’), but this can be tricky to do, even for experienced binders. Luckily, there’s the KF-50E41 Krimp-Fast from Rhin-O-Tuff. This device can be attached to a Rhin-O-Tuff binding machine or else it can be used on its own. It’s a great alternative to handheld crimpers and it’s a pretty terrific product all around. Here’s why….

  • The first thing you need to know about the KF-50E41 is that it was designed for use with several of Rhin-O-Tuff’s binding machines. These include the PC-248, and the HD-4170 and HD-e4100 coil inserters. You can also use it on its own as long as you have a KB-50 crimping box. That way, you can enjoy Rhin-O-Tuff quality despite having a machine from another manufacturer.
  • The KF-50E41 can work with coils that range from 6 to 50 millimeters in diameter. This is very convenient because you’ll be able to crimp just about any coil. Also, you won’t need any special tools to finish your coils. This device can do it all for you while will help you save time.
  • This little device gives you the option of two tail lengths: 15 and 50 mm. Thus, you’ll be able to choose the appropriate tail length for your document no matter what its size.
  • The KF-K50E41 has a handle that’s very ergonomically friendly. This is great because it will allow you to process a lot of documents comfortably. If you used a handheld crimper, your hand would get sore after a short while, so that definitely makes this device worth looking at.
  • One of the best things about this product is that it’s very small. It only measures 2.25” (height) x 6” (width) x 7.5” (depth) so it won’t take up very much room. Also, it only weighs 3 pounds so you be able to save a lot of money on shipping costs.
  • Finally, the KF-50E41 is pretty affordable and it’s backed by a one-year warranty. Sure, it’s a bit more expensive than handheld crimpers, but once you try this device out, you’ll understand why.

The KF-50E41 is a must-have device if you own any of the following Rhin-O-Tuff devices: the HD-4170, HD-e4100, or the PC-248. This product is way better than any handheld crimper (especially since it’s ergonomically friendly) and it will allow you to crimp just about any coil. It’s great that this device can be used on its own, so even if you don’t own a Rhin-O-Bind machine, you’ll still be able to get some use out of it. Plus, this crimper is nice and small, so it won’t take up much room. All in all, the KF-50E41 is an excellent product and it would be a fantastic addition to your Rhin-O-Tuff binding machine and/or collection of binding equipment. Pick up one today!
