Boot performance monitoring gives IT managers real time access to system performance as employees boot up their computers at the start of the work day. Boot performance depends in part on the speed with which a hard drives loads files into memory at boot up. Software updates and system maintenance tasks may also considerably slow boot up times; however, these are singular events that are not indicative of a general system slowdown. Boot performance monitoring separates these events from real system issues.

Employees may become distracted during lengthy boot ups and use the time they spend waiting for socializing rather than work related activities. Slower boot times translate to time lost!
