Tips for Losing Weight After Pregnancy
When your pregnancy was first discovered, your doctor probably told you that you would need to gain weight.
Weight gain is a natural part of being pregnant. Eating for two makes it pretty easy to gain weight. But now that your baby is born, you don’t want to live with the weight any longer. You probably want to get your pregnancy back. Keep reading to learn three ways that you can get your figure back after you have had your baby. Any one of these hints can help you get back to your previous size in no time.
Leg Kicks: This is a fantastic workout both for strengthening your abs and raising your heart rate. To start out, lay down on your side while assuming the pike position (slightly bent at the waist). With one leg bent to hold your balance, straighten your top leg and bring it forward as far as you can bring it. Keeping your leg in the air, move it backwards to hover over the leg that is bent. Don’t lower your leg but repeat the movement ten times. Then, roll over and repeat. Do three reps on each side and you’ll see results in no time.
The Super Crunch: This abdominal exercise needs to be included in every workout after having a baby. To begin this exercise, lie down with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. With your hands behind your head, inhale and exhale as you draw your abs in and lift your head and shoulders off the floor. Stay in that position as you lift your knees up to touch your elbows while you also lift your hips up off of the ground a little bit. Return to your starting position. Do three sets of between twelve and twenty and your ab muscles will be super hard really quickly and the weight will begin dripping off as well.
Walking: Harvard did a study in 2007 that showed just thirty minutes of walking every day can greatly improve a woman’s chances of shedding her pregnancy weight. The women who participated in the study lost 11 pounds and most women had lost the weight they wanted to lose by their baby’s first birthday. So get outside and breathe in that fresh air! It doesn’t matter what time of day you choose to walk, but if you are going to take your baby with you make sure you choose weather that is baby friendly.
Also, don’t forget to stay properly hydrated on your walk. Doing this each day will help you drop your weight in no time.
These exercises can easily be done while your baby is napping. Even if you have to do several small workouts instead of one big one each day it is better than not doing any exercises at all. As long as you truly want it, you shouldn’t have any problems losing your pregnancy weight. Thankfully, these three tips can help you quite a bit if you do them often enough.
