That is a good thing. Being stagnant, especially in the music business is the same as a death warrant. What it reminded me is that some things need to be revisited. Like if you are working on a recording project and you put it away from a month and come back. You will have fresh ears and a new perspective and usually want to make changes because you can’t believe what you had done.
It made me think that we often overlook the obvious. What I usually do when I am working on a critical project is master it down and life with it for a while and I will naturally hear some changes in service marketplace. This will teach you a lot about mixing and also show you how much better your end result can be using talented freelancers.
