K Light Solar Lantern Review
Should I get the Solar Powered K Light Lantern? That maybe the issue you are wanting to know yourself right now as you examine the internet as I did. I wanted a light that was solar powered but not heavy & big. I wanted something for my kid sister to enjoy and so I could teach her about solar panel technology. I was going to buy one that was more expensive but since I planned on giving my lantern to my sister I didn’t want to buy something really expensive in case she would break it. Plus it was greater in size than what I desired & when I uncovered the solar k light I knew I found something valuable.
It is a green colored lantern that comes with it’s own solar panel cell which rocks. I also wanted a bright light and the 16 LEDs that came with this came in handy. I did not know how long the charge time was or how long it would stay powered up for but once I found out, it well exceeded my thoughts. It only takes about 2-3 hours to charge in direct sunshine & lasts up to 8 hours of power time. That is great because my sister can keep the light on as she falls asleep instead of lying there awake in the dark when she can’t sleep.
Because the solar panel has to be connected by itself I thought it would be a problem because it was not installed onto the solar lantern. But this way is much better because when I camp and have a lantern, I usually swing it around & such, so the panel in my bag with a pillow case or socks around the panel will keep it safe from damaging or I will leave it at my tent.
The LED lights are powerful & I thought that leds were okay and like whatever. But was I ever wrong beacause they are super bright and every time I look at them it really hurts my eyes. The LEDs are super bright just like the manufacturer states in the description! Also having the ability to have two modes is very smart because one set of lights on are bright enough, but two no way hurt. This is great for when I lose things in my tent or when my sister drops things on the ground.
We both like that the k light turns in to a flood spotlight and can be positioned with the metal brackets. This makes for planning trips and the next day’s activities simple because I can easily set the k light down as well as point it in my direction and write, take notes and such. It also has this cool rotating system so you can turn it in a 360 degree fashion, I rarely use it but I figured I should let you know in case you need something like that.
My recommendation as far as this k light is yes. Its affordable and works just like it says. There are many retailers that are selling this item as you probably already know, but I like it and I plan on letting others know when they ask me what solar powered lantern they should buy.
