At the beginning of the 21st century, Computer Science and technology, acting directly and indirectly, are the most powerful shapers of global strategies and organizations today. I want to become Electrical and Computer Science Engineer because this profession meets my personal goals and aspirations. Currently at college, I have discovered my passion for math, physics, and computer science. In search for a major I decided to combine my strengths and found the best fit of them an Electrical Engineering and Computer Science profession. I suppose that technology has a direct effect on business development but also an indirect effect on other factors such as the role of governments. The increased investments are also shortening product life cycles. With fewer years over which to write off the product development costs, companies need more volume per year to reach break-even points. The result is a search for markets in more countries to replace fewer years of volume. The level of competition increases even more. These reasons, the profession of Electrical and Computer Science Engineer becomes important for society. I am a motivated and hard-working person, so the computer science is extremely interested to me because of the wide possibilities and opportunities proposed by this profession.
In modern organizations, a job of Electrical and Computer Science Engineer requires strong communication skills and teamwork knowledge. Teamwork is important as it determines communication and collaboration between employees. To be an effective team member, it is important to integrate three component including effective communication, positive personal relationships and cooperation atmosphere. The main problems that face computer-related professionals involve structure of information systems and new approaches to management, global business environment, complex organizational structures, large databases and complicated knowledge structure.
I am interested in Electrical and Computer Science Engineering because my top choice University offers the best engineering education in this field of study. I would like to transfer to UC Berkeley for my Bachelors in Electrical Engineer and Computer Science, to ECCS Department. My spheres of special interests are circuits and computers. Also, for a computer professional, it is important to recognize that new initiatives constitute major change in organizations at all levels of operations. While flexibility in organizational response to change is measured by the speed of adapting to the change, some organizations fail to realize the core objectives behind computer implementations due to weak internal organizational processes. Aligning organizational structure, culture, and human resource initiatives with information technology is essential to derive full benefits of information implementations.
