The game then plays in flashback where you take on the role of Alex Mason to complete various difficult missions. The game is based on several real incidents that took place during the cold war and the game won praise for its stunning visual effects and brilliant story telling. In the game the Bay of Pigs incident is covered which has huge significance historically.
Critics have mostly praised the game, with several game rating websites deeming the game to be one of the best games of 2010. In the game it shows Fidel Castro, albeit a fake one who is assassinated by Alex Mason, this stirred a huge controversy just like Modern Warfare 2. Leaders and common people with sympathies towards the communists saw this as a product of a capitalist American society and criticized it severely for depicting Castro’s assassination. Despite the controversy, the new Call of Duty game manages to keep up the name of an already established and well reputed game series but the game is seen as a ploy by the Americans to turn the world against communism by communists.
