The subject should also be lit properly. Outdoor shooting is the best for the green screen method as there will be a natural and even amount of lighting. Indoor shooting and night shooting may provide a hindrance and consumes time when the lighting adjustments should be done manually.
The color blue is also used in this type of special effect. Earlier, when this special effect was introduced blue was the color that was commonly used. Later, green was replaced with blue. This is because the digital cameras retain the detail in the green color channel. More than this reason, lesser light is required to illuminate the subject in the green background. Blue color is used nowadays but very rarely. Super man is one of the first movies that started using the green screen technique instead of the common blue screen that was used then.
