To The Owen Community
The Owen community, I want you to think deeply about yourselves. I want you to think of how you can lift your thoughts. Every one of you is more than what he/she thinks is. You all have unlimited potential and have power to be whatever you desire. How much you believe in yourself determines your success. You can always be in a position to live the life you want. Do not allow the negative thought part of you to dominate your mind. Practice to have positive thoughts about yourself. Use them as weapon to quiet the negative thoughts, and with time you will be able to raise the belief level about yourself. I advocate the Owen community to live a life in such a way that you will be useful, honorable and compassionate. Always live your life with meaningful goals. They will give you a reason to wake up from your beds in the morning, give you a sense of direction and a perception of your purpose in life. Have meaningful goals that are challenging but within your reach. Myself I have diverse international background. This because my family has several offices and factories in Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. This has been attained through setting up of meaningful reachable goals. We live in a society which is very competitive. Competition is crucial to the working of a free enterprise economy as well as individuals. You therefore have to find ways that will make you be in a position to fit in this environment. To achieve, it is just difficult to know how much pressure to put on yourself. Life is a journey but not necessarily a race. You do not have to rush. Take one step at a time. Do not focus on the unreachable goals; otherwise you will trip and fall and you will end up living a very miserable life. Do not allow the tendency of laziness. I even made it to work as an intern in China and Malaysia. Am also fluent in Chinese and English. I too have a conversational level of Japanese. This is an opportunity I had. I could not possibly lie on it if at all I want to be a success in life. I also had to combine the opportunities I had with talent and hard work. I believe that my professional experience in emerging markets, contact with global international customers, coupled with diverse cultural experiences will bring great value and impact to the Owen Community.
The other point is, live as your brother’s keeper. You all are a mixture of good and bad. There is something good and bad in every person on this earth. Don’t use yourself as a yardstick to measure others. No one can live up to someone else standards because we are all different. Try to look for something good in anyone. I believe you should try to look for the good in people and not concentrating only on the bad things. It is a waste of time to have efforts to find faults in other people because there is nothing we can do to change it. It is simply impossible to change another person unless the person has the desire to change.
