Me,My Brother and Motorcross
I love the idea that all of us have very distinct, separate and personal tastes, hobbies and interests. The diversity of the human race is astonishing in its simplicity. I personally dabble on everything that concerns pop culture- from music to films to television shows to just about anything that is within its’ realm.
A perfect day for me consists of me on my bed, with a bunch of dvds unwatched, popcorn, sodas and my dvd player. Pop culture is a subject that really thrills me to no end. But there are those who simply cannot be bothered by anything mainstream and feels like its a whole load of crap. To each his own, as they say. My older brother does not understand my fascination over this subject and in turn,
I do not understand his attraction towards any sport that is borderline dangerous like motor cross. My brother is the kind of guy that has interests that will only reaffirm his being straight and masculine and I do not find any fault in that. He tinkers with his motorbike like it is his girlfriend and takes care of it like it is his baby; you know those people who treat their cars the same? He is like that. He relentlessly searches for mx videos online and watches them repeatedly. It is like the Holy Grail to him.
What he feels for motor cross, I feel for my pop culture. I personally am not the type of person who wants to get down and dirty so my being inept in anything that concerns motor cross is understandable. Aside from that, he splurges on the most expensive, top-of-the-line, sophisticated mx gear out in the market. I find it funny that my brother who ate mud when he was a kid and could care nothing less about anything else other than his mud pies could be this passionate about something.
I surmise this is the stage in which he got over that and find a passion. I would not be surprised if he soon finds himself in one of those mx videos he likes watching online. And with the way things are going, I can foresee him being really good at it. My brother may be kind of a tool but when he sets his mind in doing something, he gives his all in order to achieve nothing but the best. So yes, that is one of the primary examples of diversity in us. Under one roof. Motor cross and pop culture. My brother and I.
