In this day and age we simply cannot afford to continue to build the stereotypical kind of development that we have seen produced, not just in Spain, but worldwide over the past 30 years. We have a duty to our children and our children’s children, a duty that ensures the very existence of the planet as we found it.
Not only that but we have to take into consideration the wasteful culture that we have been living in and to change the ethos for future generations. There is no doubt our excess energy, fuel & food consumption, without any thought for anyone else we share the Earth with has put the future comfort & prosperity of our world in jeopardy.
The advancements in Communications in the past 50 years have been extraordinary, yet it is thought that advancements in the next 50 will be 10 fold to those of the past. It is true, think about advancements that have occurred even in the past 15 years, internet, email, mobile phones – could you or your kids even think about a world without constant social updates. A continuous source of friendship, referrals and recommendations, the youth of today balk when we spell twitter wrong and laugh when we don’t use Facebook to speak to any relative further than 2 feet away.
There is no doubt the next generation are looking at the world through different spectacles to us, they want to do right by each other. It isn’t just their friends or acquaintances who are important to them, they easily forge relationships with people on the other side of the planet. This leads to them wanting to do right by people further afield and the planet as a whole. They have seen the mess we have created in a short period and they are keen to mop up after us, to do things right.
This will result in greener ideas in all aspects of life – transport, work, travel and the home. Future developments in all these aspects of life will be carefully planned and meticulously carried out to adhere to the values that should have always been important – Sustainability, Waste Management, Energy Conservation, Water conservation, Climate recovery.
