After a month of snow, wind and biting cold, find out more about the power of weather at Morden Hall Park in south west London, between Wimbledon and Sutton. Tales of Mr Toad

Money talk this half term at the museum of the Bank of England. Fans of The Wind in the Willows will love this daily event. A costumed storyteller will enact the adventures of Toad, Ratty, Badger and Mole in the Misadventures of Mr Toad. Fans of the books will be fascinated to learn the characters were first created by former Secretary of the Bank of England Kenneth Grahame. Family Ghost Tours

Voice Aloud

Get your kids involved in a free intergenerational drama workshop which coincides with a new exhibition that delves into the pages of well-loved books and brings five stories of war to life. In partnership with the Polka Theatre, children will read and listen to excerpts from stories such as Robert Westall’s The Machine gunners and then illustrate postacards to be displayed during performances of the show at the Polka Theatre. Wordburst

Take the family to the V&A’s Museum of Childhood for drama, art and literacy workshops. If you like a chance to relax and enjoy reading with your children (age 5-11) then come to one of this week’s half term sessions. Families will explore a well-loved tbook Room On The Broom by Julia Donaldson through drama, games, scenery painting, costume design and storytelling and then, at the end of the session, be encouraged to invite family and friends to watch their group perform the story in the museum.
