The Game Season 4 Episode 1 – Season 4 Premiere – I know most of you guys already got a chance to watch The Game season 4 episode 1 when it premiered last night on BET (especially since everyone on my Facebook was saying so) and it definitely did not disappoint. After almost a two year absence since it was canceled from the CW Network in 2009, it came back with an hour long season 4 premiere. The Game season 4 episode 1 is titled “Parachutes: Beach Chairs.”
Elsewhere on the show, we see Tasha Mack dating a much younger guy named Donte. She tries to keep her true feelings for him low but ends up breaking out emotionally when she discovers his ex-girlfriend was Sheree from the show “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Meanwhile, we see Malik’s success getting to his head. He is currently sleeping with the majority owner of his team’s girlfriend (played by the hot Meagan Good) and he is pushing his best friend to the limits.
Robinson, as the attractive, saucy mother of one of the players, is so popular that her character’s name – Tasha Mack – has been trending on Twitter in the days leading up to the series return and there has been lots of chatter about the new episodes. “What if BET crashes like twitter often does on 1/11/11 when The Game premieres,” wrote Twitter user ZPhinale. “It would be a sad day lol.” BET ran a marathon of old episodes over the Christmas weekend, and fans took to social networking sites to express their delight with the scheduled return. “The wait is almost over,” wrote Ramona Robinson on the show’s Facebook page (which has more than 3 million followers). “Ready 2 c the new season of my favorite tv show!” Will you be watching?
When reruns of the show proved wildly popular, the cable network struck a deal to produce new episodes and return the cast intact. Now “The Game” begins anew with several provocative developments. Melanie (Tia Mowry Hardict), the adorable former med student, suspects that the son her husband, Derwin (Pooch Hall), had with another woman may not really be his. Meanwhile, reckless San Diego Sabers quarterback Malik (Hosea Chanchez) is sleeping with the wife of the team owner, and sports agent Tasha (Wendy Raquel Robinson) is having no-strings-attached sex with a younger man. Then there’s Jason (Coby Bell) and Kelly (Brittany Daniel), who continue to feud following a turbulent divorce.
“Let’s Stay Together” (11 p.m. Tuesday, BET): It’s good to see that BET is trying its hand at original scripted material, especially since the broadcast networks are so reluctant to feature shows with black casts. On the other hand, it’s too bad that it can’t offer viewers something more interesting and original than this generic fare. Like “Friends” and the slew of relationship comedies that came in its wake, “Let’s Stay Together” follows a group of pals trying to navigate early adulthood, including a newly engaged couple (Nadine Ellis and Bert Belasco) dealing with trust issues. Unfortunately, no cast member really pops in an aimless pilot episode, and one – Erica Hubbard – proves to be downright grating in an useless subplot that has her committing a crime against music as a shrill lounge singer.
