Gay Marriage
In the latest past same gender marriage and its justification has been one of the most heated debates. This is as a result of the original definition of the word marriage which meant the union of a man and a woman (monogamy and heterosexuality). Its legalization has been one of the biggest bones of contention in terms of the benefits to the couples. Several reasons that have been given as to why gay marriages should not be legalized include: they are synthetic or unnatural(Tamara 1998 ). It may encourage people to indulge in all kinds of anomalous activities like people wedding their pets since most pets have legal standing and can be signatories of the marriage certificate. Most of these reasons are skewed towards religion, culture and the beliefs norms of the various societies.
One of the major reasons against the legalization of same marriage relationships is that greatly like the polyethane; gay marriages are synthetic as opposed to an ordinary marriage that is said to be natural according to clergy men and the religious community. It is termed unnatural since in same sex matrimonies, the parties exchange what is for what is not. It’s considered unnatural since it is not in harmony with nature. In the world of animals there has never existed a homosexual relationship in the animals’ world e.g. a male dog and another or even a female animal and another and human beings are part of nature therefore this act is in conflict with nature and should not be legalized. Gay marriage will also interfere with the explanation of marriage and holistically the culture in fraction by elimination of monogamy as a vital aspect in matrimony.
Legalization of homosexual relationships and marriages can encourage people to involve themselves in all sorts of fanatical behavior. Its legalization will see people doing such inconsistent activities as marrying their pets since pets have officially authorized commitments and can authenticate documents through their ascent by signing. This can encourage promiscuous behavior(Klein n.d). This can be capable of altering the fundamentals of the society forcing us to take on new standard which can never be since it can corrupt the social, cultural and religious values.
Gay marriage should not be officially authorized since one of the most important aspects of straight (heterosexual) marriages is proliferation; and homosexual couples cannot fulfill this requirement. This equates it to old persons and sterile couples who should also not be allowed to wed since the world needs more children young people to push the economy forward and provide the required human labor. A healthy state also depends on the state of health of its citizens and the family is the basic unit and hence dictates the health of a nation. Heterosexual marriages ensure the advancement of generations and extremely inside the communities’ worry and the public rule acknowledges them.
