I was accosted on the street the other day by a reader who was desperate. He had tried everything to try to learn how to copy Wii games. Nothing seemed to be working for him. The truth is, you don’t need to waste money and void your warranty any more by installing a mod chip. Mod chips are a thing of the past.
In today’s more advanced world, there is a better option. Prior to 2009, the only way to accomplish the task of playing backed up games indeed was to install a mod chip. But now, you can simply mod your game discs instead! This is because there are several applications now available that will let you strip off the encryption from your games and make a direct 1:1 copy!
But, I have a tendency to ramble, and I think I’m starting to. So, without any more talk on my part, let’s get to the actual guide…
1:
Get a hold of the program, and save the executable file to your pc’s desktop. The exact same file works on either a Mac or pc. I do believe that they are currently creating a program for Linux.
2nd Step:
Set up the program. Find the file on your desktop. Double click it. Click next whenever that it asks you. You’ll be aware that you are done when you are getting a screen informing you that the installation is complete.
3rd Step:
Do you have a game in mind that you would like to clone? Good. Take it out of it’s case now, and insert it into your PC or Mac’s CD or DVD drive.
4th Step:
Launch the game clone application that you just installed. (Just double click on the icon on the desktop)
5th Step:
Put the program into “extraction” mode, and then tell it where you want it to “rip” the game information to. I recommend just using your desktop, or creating a temporary folder for this on your desktop. Hit “Start”.
6th Step:
Ok, now it’s time to actually burn the cloned copy of the disc. Remove the game disc from the computer and insert a blank disc. In the game copy program, go into “write” mode and select the .ISO that you burned to the desktop.
STEP 7
After it finishes, the app may play some amusing music to let you know it’s completed, and will state that it’s finished. Fantastic! Congratulations , you simply remove the game, jot down a label onto it with a sharpie pen, and you’re ready to go! Don’t forget to place your master copy of your game within a safe and secure place, and also to be sure to play using the copied game!
And now, your learning for how to backup Wii games is finished! Yay!
