The Society had been the pioneers of establishing historical landmarks namely the State Landmark in 1989 and Historic American Building Survey (HABS) in 1991. They also had upheld a historical library and produced video tapes stressing the history of the La Flecha house in the village.
The Rancho Santa Fe had been very successful in adopting a real community by creating organizations, schools, churches and many others purposively for the convenience of the residents by giving them their needs just within their reach and without the need to go to the city.
