Lifetime Vauxhall warranty on used cars too
Kia’s 7 year warranty took the automotive industry by surprise, Vauxhall’s life time warranty shook it and now Vauxhall has announced that its lifetime warranty will be available on its approved used cars in London as well as the rest of the UK too, that will rock the used car industry.
The lifetime warranty cover applies to the second owner of any Vauxhall used model purchased through a Network Q dealer. The car has to have covered less than 30,000 miles and has to be less than 12 months old. According to Vauxhall this criteria fits 80% of all Network Q models. The car will be covered until it reaches 100,000 miles but it is not transferable to the third owner.
Vauxhall launched Network Q in 1990 as the first national, manufacturer-backed used car programme; Network Q is the largest used car programme in the UK. Via this used car programme Vauxhall has sold 1.9 million used cars to date and over 80,000 in 2010 alone.
The lifetime warranty can be extended to Network Q cars because every Network Q vehicle is subjected to a multi-point check by Vauxhall
technicians, before it is allowed to carry the Network Q stamp of approval.
Duncan Aldred, managing director of Vauxhall Motors, said: “Dealers were consulted on the new car lifetime warranty and this used one too. It will help guarantee a stream of businesses back into our dealers and help retain customers that might have gone outside the franchise repair network previously.”
In order to maintain the lifetime warranty, owners need to visit a Vauxhall dealer once a year for a free vehicle inspection and obviously maintain the vehicle according to the manufacturer’s service schedule.
