She was ruling the roost and was a mesmeriser both owing to her mirror-shattering beauty and her ample amount of on-screen talent. However, of late, the tabloids are composing more and more articles about katrina kaif who is reckoned to be her arch competitor.
Being young and sprightly, Katrina is hogging all the attention- be it for her rom-com flicks or her navel-show in raunchy song like ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’. Aishwarya Rai didn’t have a spectacular year 2010 even after some hyped releases back to back such as ‘Guzaarish’ and ‘Action Replayy’. Even though, ‘Endhiran’ or ‘Robot’ did explosive business, its success has been credited to the presence of the Demi-God Rajinikanth. And coming to Katrina, her most films have been successful even if they have a pathetic storyline (for example, ‘Welcome’). Her presence alone is adequate to pull in male diehards in huge number. Katrina’s recent release ‘Tees Maar Khan’ opened big doing over Rs 40 crore of business in its opening weekend. Katrina, though, did a commendable job in ‘Rajneeti’, the viewers’ obsession with the ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ number was a tad too much. Katrina has lost weight and cast off her clothes and inhibitions for this snappy song.

In ‘Dhoom 2’ we saw Aishwarya Rai taking lead of Bipasha Basu with her style and looks.. The title track and ‘Krazy kiya re’ number was reminiscent of her earlier successes at item numbers with ‘Ishq kamina’ and ‘Kajra re’. Katrina Kaif might be the new charmer on the block with her racy numbers in ‘Race’ and ‘Tees Maar Khan’, she still can’t equal Aishwarya who has proved herself more than once.
It is forecasted that this new pairing of Abhishek with Katrina will certainly yeild outstanding results. Given all the trance of the starry-eyed Aishwarya, most of her films with hubby Abhishek have been flops at the box- office. Be it their latest release in 2010 ‘Raavan’ or their earlier attempts when they were not a real life couple. Only ‘Guru’ is an exception. We truly desire that the new pair will be able to attract huger number of enthusiasts given the popularity of Katrina and the trance of Abhishek.
