Year 2006 at Nashville Tennessee, a group was formed and named Lady Antebellum. The group was composed of 2 men and a woman and they are Charles Kelly, Dave Haywood and Hillary Scott. They have made their first appearance as guest vocalist on the single “Never Alone” by Jim Brickman in the year 2007. The group made their self titled debut album in May 2008. It almost made it to the number one spot but ranked 3rd place on the “Hot Country Songs”. Lady Antebellum first album was certified Platinum in the United State.
January 26, 2010, Lady Antebellum released their second album titled “Need You Now” and later on it was released in the United Kingdom and Europe on the 26th of April 2010. This song reached the number one spot of the “Billboard Hot Country Song” and stayed there for 5 weeks straight in the latter part of 2009. It has become such a hit that it ranked number 5 in New Zealand, Ireland and Canada. In Norway and Netherlands, it was in the top 10 hit. At the 2010 Academy of Country Music Awards, their song won as the “single of the year” and also won the 2010 CMT Music Awards for the “best group video of the year”.
30 of March 2010, their song reached the uppermost chart single on the Billboard Hot 100 ranking 2nd place. This is the highest position a country song has reached. It was qualified Quadruple Platinum by the RIAA. Lady Antebellum song has received a lot of positive feedbacks from all the music critics giving them 2 thumbs up.
The top charting songs music video was directed by David McClister. All three members were in the video acting the songs story line. The award winning video was filmed and shot in Toronto and Ontario, Canada.
Lady Antebellum song was awarded by the Academy of Country Music as the Single Record of the Year and Song of the year. CMT Music Awards, they won the Group Video of the Year. At Teens Choice Awards, it was nominated to be the Choice Music: Country Song. Country Music Association Awards, it was nominated Music Video of the Year and won the Single of the Year. At the American Country Awards, they have won Single of the Year, Single by a Duo / Group and Video by Duo / Group and were nominated Music Video of the Year. All this was in the year 2010.
