Angry Birds Valentine’s Day Edition Coming on February

Forget flowers and teddy bears, the only gift to buy your beloved this February 14th is the Angry Birds Valentine’s Day edition app, which is reportedly in the works.

Love is all you need. Love will find a way. What is love? Baby, don’t hurt me. Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, and lovebirds can celebrate with a Valentine-themed version of Angry Birds for Android.

Angry Birds Valentine’s Day Edition. There’s no love lost between irritated avians and their porcine opponents in the smash-hit mobile game, even at this fluffiest time of year. A new level is revealed on German TV channel Deutsche Welle in a feature profiling the game’s creator, Rovio, and exploring the phenomenon of casual gaming. The video winds up with a look at the team’s latest creation: the Valentine’s Day-themed update.

The fellas at Rovio have treated us to Halloween and Christmas iterations of their money-printing application and now it seems they’re going all lovey dovey on us.

In a video released on DW-TV (which can be seen below) chronicling the story of Finland’s greatest export since Sami Hyypia, the Rovio developers are pictured working away while the narrator reveals: “The designers and game developers at Rovio are currently working on new versions of their game, like this update in pink, due to come on the market on February the 14th – Valentine’s Day.”

So expect lots of heart-shaped defences to smash to smithereens when the app launches, likely on multiple platforms, next month. With Christmas, Halloween and now seemingly Valentine’s Day covered, we’re eager to see what happens to those precious eggs come Easter.

Soon as in ON Valentine’s Day, how do you like that? This version is much more than likely going to be an upgrade to your already awesome Angry Birds Seasons game that’s already got a Christmas and a Halloween edition active. This super secret edition has been released via DW-TV (Deutsche Welle) via YouTube. The news fellow in the clip notes, “The designers and game developers at Rovio are currently working on new versions of their game, like this update in pink, due to come on the market on February the 14th – Valentine’s Day.”

A few additional details are mentioned in the video including the origin of the game, developments along the way, and the fact that the game originally had no slingshot and was apparently very confusing to play. CEO and co-founder of Rovio Mikael Hed says they’d like to take the characters and the universe that’s here in the game and expand it to more games, merchandise, and even TV shows and movies. Weird!

Just like Rovio presented us with Halloween and Christmas versions of the runaway success we call Angry Birds, the team is gearing up for the holiday of love with a special pink-tinged version of the game. In the video clip below from DW-TV we see the Rovio gang hard at work on all sorts of fun new edition to the Angry Birds lineup, stating “The designers and game developers at Rovio are currently working on new versions of their game, like this update in pink, due to come on the market on February the 14th – Valentine’s Day.”

It isn’t revealed outright which platforms will get the Valentine’s edition, but it seems pretty much a lock that Android will get it at some point in February. That’s good, because we’re running out of new levels of Angry Birds to slave away at until three stars are achieved.

The survival of the Angry Birds is at stake. Dish out revenge on the greedy pigs who stole their eggs. Use the unique powers of each bird to destroy the pigs’ fortresses. Angry Birds features challenging physics-based gameplay and hours of replay value. Each of the 195 levels requires logic, skill, and force to solve. Recent changes: – 45 new levels – QVGA(320×240) display resolution support – Optimizations for more Android devices – Fixed graphical problems
