Lacking Team spirit
My time at the office always seems to drag, 8 hours of sitting in front of the computer gets really boring. I sit and stare at the clock ticking away but the hands don’t move as fast as I want it to. I’m always looking forward to lunch; it’s an hour away from my desk where I can forget about everything and just enjoy my lunch.
Last month my manger left his job to join another company at a higher post; three weeks later we have a new manager who seems to know how to entertain everyone. He is very bubbly but at the same time he is always making sure we meet our targets for the day.
My new manager told us that we lack team spirit, we all just sit at our desk like zombies, we don’t speak to each other unless its work related. So he decided it’s about time someone did something about it, he sent us all an email saying we need to get ready for some action.
Everyone at the office was confused, including myself, it’s funny that a simple email got everyone talking to each other. Even at lunch, we all went out together to eat while still trying to figure out what the manger meant by that email.
After lunch, we all got back to our desk to find we had another email from the manager, this time he told us what he had planned for us for the coming weekend. The email said we will be taking part in corporate activities to help improve morale and team spirit around the office.
