Record SEAT sales
During the peak of the recession financial experts said a good guide of a country’s financial form can be measured by looking at its housing and automotive market, in which case we must be half way out of the financial slump. With many car manufacturers reporting increased sales, consumer confidence appears to be restoring and finance is becoming more readily available.
SEAT, the Spanish car maker has announced record breaking sales here in the UK as well in its home market of Spain. UK sales were a record 32,935 units, comfortably beating last year’s figure of 29,987, it was only the fifth time in the company’s history that it exceeded sales of 30,000 units in the UK.
SEAT has been successful in aligning its product line up with its customer profile, enabling it to become fashionable, desirable and a real favourite. SEAT has models for almost every sector in the automotive market, from the SEAT Ibiza supermini through to the sporty SEAT Leon hatch and practical SEAT Altea and SEAT Altea XL to the capacious new seven-seat SEAT Alhambra in Taunton and luxurious SEAT Exeo saloon and ST.
Company President James Muir said: “Securing leadership in the Spanish market is a sign of the comeback SEAT is making. This success in the domestic market will help us boost the growth of our brand across Europe.”
