Go off the road this winter
Wintertime is a brilliant time to take you vehicle off road. If you are a fan of off road driving, or greenlaning as it’s called by motor enthusiasts, winter snow provides an extra challenge for you and your car. The snow and ice adds another tricky obstacle for you as a driver to tackle. And wind might have made the snow build up in certain areas on the ground to obscure ruts and rocks and alter the route so even the most familiar track somehow appears brand new and unexplored.
But if you do decide to venture out on unknown tracks please make sure you also bring recovery gear and additional blankets and food in case you do get stuck and are unable to move unassisted.
If you’re looking for a new or used 4&4 vehicle the once most used for greenlaning are Land Rovers and many Land Rover clubs around the country will have a group of enthusiasts who go greenlaning in all conditions. If you haven’t got a suitable vehicle to go off road in try a visit to your local car dealer who more often than not should be able to offer you a used Land Rover Staffordshire is a good spot to try out any 4&4 you might have as there are plenty of so called green lanes in the area. Green lanes are public roads which haven’t been laid with tarmac. The region also gets plenty of snow when the conditions are right so the challenges should be there whether it’s wet and muddy or white and icy.
