Adults know a bit about World of Warcraft

Tell the World of Warcraft and facial features of many parents may be somewhat sulkily over her. But many jostling for time-wasting online gamb can be avoided if the parents learn how the game works, says a new research report.

The report Living in the wow gold, made at Gothenburg University for the Media Council’s behalf, is different in many ways from other reports of computer and video game. First, World of Warcraft (WoW) is not particularly violent, so there is no reason to sound the alarm on this score and both play WoW the authors themselves, which makes the report more credible than many others in the genre.

The problem, particularly for many parents, is that Wow is slow to play. To sit an hour in front of the computer makes little sense. Three hours, many consider as a minimum, and then passes the player Media Council’s limit on high consumption of computer games and could end up in the “problematic use”.
– There are players who do not even think it’s fun to play anymore, it has become a job for them. You go in and kill the same monsters over and over again to score points, “said game researcher Dr Jonathan Linder Roth.
– But high consumption is not the same as problematic use, it has to do with the player’s life. For many, it is not a problem to add three hours a day on game, “said Jonas Linderoth.

The report involved ten anonymous young WoW players from the West Coast and many of them are taking up time needed as a problem. Not primarily for themselves but in relationship with parents who think that kids are sitting too long at the computer and are concerned that game goes out other activities, social contacts, and especially school work.
