Requiem: Memento Mori – Spice Up the Gameplay
Requiem: Memento Mori is a strange name for a game, but the moment I downloaded the game I was hooked. I was wondering how in the world I ever missed this game on the radar. The game is a darkly themed 3D fantasy horror MMORPG. With amazing graphics, it is one of the most visually impressive games with quite a bit of violence. It is one of the only self-proclaimed horror games in the entire MMORPG genre. I really enjoy playing the game, and it is free as well. The game is worth checking out if you like a game with blood and gore and a brutal and dark feel. Call me weird and twisted but I am hooked on the game.
Like other games, you start by customizing your character, and you inherit special abilities depending on your class (Templar, Berserker, Soul Hunter or many others). If you are a Templar you will be provided with many heals, debuffs, electric and holy attacks, have divine destruction powers and be able to do lightning twisters. The game has four playable races, and upon reaching level 10 you can actually pick your class. You have the choice of picking from two different classes for each race, so pick your race carefully. Spice up the gameplay with playable classes and job advancements.
After choosing your character, start your quests to build your character. Quests are nothing unique or exciting, but their battling system is awesome. It is similar to other games in this genre but the abilities that you start with are more and more fun as you go on. Your character gains strength with something called ‘DNA points’ and can resist some of the spells and even weapon damage. You can enchant your weapon to do more damage to the enemy and also to create a buffer to protect yourself.
Each DNA item can also be upgraded five times, with each upgrade increasing the DNA’s potency. The DNA system adds a great deal of variety to the game because of the sheer number of possible DNA combinations out there.
The job advancement system is great, but the only drawback is that going from your level 10 job advancement to the one in level 50 just takes too long.
There are guilds you can join, duels you can fight with one another and even stuff you can trade. So you’re really getting an open world experience. You gather special items as you go through the game, and if you want these special items you can get them from the item mall using the in-game currency, WarpPortal energy, or Requiem packs from PlaySpan.
To end, let me tell you: Requiem: Memento Mori is very dark and not for the weak at heart. You can imagine that monster’s blood will be everywhere when you fight an enemy. Most of the game environment looks as if an apocalypse has happened; mutated monsters are everywhere. But check this game out, and give it a go to see what you think. If you’re a fan of games with a lot of gore, then Requiem just may be your cup of tea.
