Internet marketing, or make money online, is one of the top Google searches every day. In fact, I predict this trend will rise as our economy continues to flounder, as more and more people are looking for the answer to provide for their families. I’ve been succesfully marketing online for two years, studying all the trends, buying some products, and spending hours on research and learning. This article is trying to convince you NOT to fall for every slick sales letter you come accross online. Not every product that shows screenshots of thousands in earnings is legit. In fact, more time than not, it’s a complete scam.
Here is everything you need to know about internet marketing from someone who has walked the walk and is succesfully making money. To make money online you have to sell something. It can be a product or service, it can be yours or someone elses. But you need to sell something. The only exception to that is cost per action marketing where you will be paid for collecting information. However, you still have to sell that person on filling out the form. To sell something online, you need a website. The website doesn’t have to be the fanciest website in the world, however it should look clean and professional. Next, you need compelling content on your website that convinces your visitors to take action on what they see. Bascailly, you want them to do what you tell them to do. Finally, you need website traffic. Wheather it’s article marketing, forum posts, SEO, or PPC, you need to get visitors to your website. Then you track the results of these visits and modify your content to get better results. Rinse and repeat many times and you have a profitable business on your hands.
So many people try to over complicate this process. Now mind you, there are many components to this very simple explanation above, to make a consistent amount of income online. The vast majority of everything you need to learn to make money is available right on google. Not all of it shows up on the first page results however, so you need to spend some time and work researching the answers.
Chances are, if you come accross a very vauge sales letter, that shows screenshots of earnings totaling thousands of dollars, and claims to give you the secret key to making that money, and charges you ANY amount of money for it, it’s a scam. I have been a helpless victim of these sales letters, wasting thousands of dollars on products only to find out they were complete crap and a waste of my money, with no good information. After I actually spent a few hours researching on google, I found more quality information on page 20 of some search terms then i found on products i paid over $300 for.
It’s very tempting to think that if you spend enough money, you will make money online. This is simply not the case. Another common scam online is for tricksters to offer you an “all in one” solution of building you a quality site and getting traffic to it, guaranteeing your earnings. I have given one individual over $900 for one of these scames. Guess what? I”m still waitting for my money to be returned to me two years later. Bottom line: if it sounds too good to be true, just like your Mom told you, it probably is.
