Laptop reviews – Tons of notebooks to drool upon

Laptop costs a lot. So you got to be careful when buying it because you cannot dump a laptop and then get a new one, if you are not happy with it. We get tons of laptop for reviewing in our labs and we check them out from every angle in order to make sure you know what you are going to buy. There are few things that we check in particular while writing a review. They are as follows:

  • Build quality: This is really important if you going to go places with your laptops. Some people want downright looks where as some people go just for plain jane looks. If you want sexy looks, go straight to Sony Vaio. But remember, they cost a lot.
  • Screen: If the screen is glossy, it reflects a lot of glare. Matte screen eliminates the glare factor but the laptops now look a bit dull. Resolution is also an important factor. Usually 13-14 inch laptops have a HD ready resolution of 1,366×768 pixels. Higher end laptops give a full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. A bigger resolution gives you more real estate on the screen. You can fit in more of a document on a screen if it has a big resolution.
  • Battery: This is the last test that we conduct while writing laptop reviews. But it is certainly not the least important. Battery is the most important thing for people who travel a lot. There are Netbooks in the market which offer awesome battery life but they are slow performers because of the battery conscious hardware components inside.
  • Laptop speakers: This is not that important but still we do test it while making up laptop reviews. Usually laptop speakers are tinny even if they are come along with a brand name like Altec Lansing. Laptops with good speaker quality are rare.
  • Performance: We usually check the processor performance for this. Core i7 chips are not that frequent in laptops yet but all the latest laptops come with Core i3 or Core i5 processor. We won’t recommend you going for older Core 2 Duo or Dual Core 2 processor laptops now because they are a bit slow and will easily get outdated soon as there are newer applications coming in which are hungry for more power. Secondly, for our laptop reviews, we also check if the laptop has a graphic card. The presence of this chip qualifies the system to be called a gaming notebook. A card must be fast if you want to play all the recent games.
