I totally agree that you need a lot of practice in learning the guitar. I did exactly the same when I was in high school. Got a guitar as a gift from my uncle and learned how to play it by myself. The Internet really is a great help for me. My parents were not that as helpful since they were always busy on something. It’s always a great accomplishment whenever you finish a song if you are just a beginner. My advice is, learn the basic chords first and start with songs that are easy to play.
