Grilling Ideas for Valentines Day
Valentines Day is almost here and you want to do something special for your loved one. If your spouse or significant other is trying to eat healthy and lose weight you do not want to give him or her a box of chocolates or any other type of candy. Instead you could grill a healthy meal for the two of you for Valentines Day. He or she will appreciate the thought and know how much you care by not tempting him/her with fattening chocolate or candy.
For light grilling foods you may decide to choose a type of fish. You may want to select a cod or salmon type of fish. Salmon has Omega-3 fats and is very healthy for you. The Omega-3 fats are especially good for your cholesterol, in helping to lower it, as well as it is good for your heart.
If you or your spouse or significant other do not like fish you may decide to grill pork chops. When you buy the pork chops make sure you choose thick pork chops. Even better is to ask the butcher to cut you fresh thick pork chops. Your pork chops will taste best if they were not previously frozen. You will really taste the difference when you grill them.
Pork chops are excellent with spices on; such as fresh ground pepper, seasoned salt and powdered garlic. You may want to add applesauce on the side. If your pork chop accidentally turns out dry, it will still be tasty as it was on the grill, but applesauce can help make it taste moist.
Another one of the grilling ideas for Valentines Day is prime rib. If you think your spouse or significant other deserves an extra special meal, prime rib is phenomenal on the grill. Watch the prime rib on your grill closely. You can prepare a baked potato which is simple especially if you grill it. Simply scrub your potatoes, poke holes in them with a fork and dampen it. Next, wrap the potatoes in individual tin foil. You can add a side dish of your spouse/significant other’s favorite vegetables. Grill the vegetables for ease and taste. Add butter to the vegetables and potatoes. Salt and pepper to taste.
You may decide to grill some seafood for your loved one. You may choose from jumbo shrimp, crab legs, lobster, etc. If your loved one is a big seafood fan, you are giving a phenomenal Valentines Day meal to him or her.
To make your Valentines Day meal even more special, give your spouse or significant other an invitation handwritten by you. Your invitation should state the date of February 14th to meet for dinner prepared by you. You may want to put on the invitation to come dressed up to make the evening feel even more special. After all, you do not want your loved one showing up in pajamas or sweatpants.
Of course you want to have at least two candles, a tablecloth, cloth napkins and your best dishes set out on the table. Enjoy your Valentines Day with your loved one with a homemade grilled dinner lovingly prepared by you.
