Dresses You Would Not Want to Wear in the Office
Though it is now summer, you cannot simply use the dress that you want to use in the office. Ethics and right choice of clothes still matter in order for you to perform the tasks better.
Unless your office is a fashion runway or that there is a cocktail party while you work then it would be probably fit to be talking about the right dresses a female worker should wear. You might argue that whatever clothes you wear to the office will not affect your performance but does that reason actually suffice? Oh Hollywood portrays women must be presentable enough in the office as what the fashion in Sex and the City 2 rendered. With this argument, it’s good to look at some pointers rather than just how Hollywood depicts it. Since we already have used Sex and the City 2 and Hollywood, let’s take some arguments from these premises.
Time magazine have pointed out using the fashion depicted in the movie Sex and the City 2 that there are just certain dresses be it considered as a workwear uniform that do not fit to be used in the office for several reasons. In the article from Time, there is a reiteration that although you have the most beautiful body, well-toned shoulders, perfect legs, and a well carved abs there are just simply apparels that you must not be wearing in the office. We take the dresses that were donned by the characters in the said movie and make some points from there.
1. SJP’s Halter Tops – sure you will look amazing in this dress; of course only during awards night or so. But in office? I don’t think so. If you have a female boss and you wear this kind of dress, just imaging the scene in the Devil Wears Prada when Miranda arrived in her office just to find out a woman who’s flaunting her dress serving an impression that her taste on fashion is equal the boss’. Not to mention what would your men officemates would be thinking when you are on this kind of dress.
2. SJP’s Micro Minis – From the belly up, you may have no problem at all. But if you were told by your boss to lean over at the bottom of the file cabinet to get some files then that’s the problem goes in place.
3. Kim Cattrall’s Dress with Cutouts – By showing some parts of your body (that supposedly concealed) would ignite your male coworker
