Nuclear Family Is Changing
The concept of nuclear family is the fulcrum in the western society where the individual members of the family play an important role in running the family. Childfree families have arisen as an important aspect of nuclear family where they live without children by choice. The childless couples make up to 20% of the population of USA stating the fact that this concept is effectively gaining value (Cain, 2001). The living childfree is not of a political or cultural issue but rather it is a personal decision that takes place because of some wrong experiences. Many childless couples describe this action as a part of their personal endeavors and growths where they don’t want to indulge in activities that could somehow harm their career and approach in the society. Bearing a child means lots of responsibilities and many couples now refrain from them. There can also be some medical problems related them to the families that could stop them to bear a child but mostly it is an option.
The concept of childfree couples is prevailing over time. It seems that from some ten years from now the people will be having quite different kind of life. The proportion of these couples would have increased to a healthy proportion of the total population. The couples will be having different priorities in their lives where the option of working hard and establishing a good career will be preferred. The prevailing of businesses and personal achievement list will increase over time. No time for children means that they will not be bounded to anything that requires them to come home early and feed them. The privacies have become an important aspect of the social structure currently, and after 10 years it seems pretty evident that this phenomenon will be far more expressive as the husband and wives both might have to live different private lives (DeMarneffe, 2005).
The reasons for these actions might not be clear at first interaction with the childfree couples but with passage of time it becomes clear that economical condition somehow impact this. In America bearing a child means a whole lot more responsibility for parents. Father has to earn and mother has to take care of the child but if economic conditions worsens then the problems prevails much more than expected. Families tend not to try to indulge in such actions which consequently have a negative impact on their personal choices. This will be evident in next few years where the capitalism will shape the whole family and social structure in such a way that the term child will bear no meaning in the lives of people (Baumgardner, 2000).
Another aspect of the American society is the lack of love for children. The American society has enclosed people of different motives and kinds and there are people who just don’t love children. This is the reason why the normal birth rate of American citizens is much less than those who are immigrants here critically determining their no interest in having children. If this trend continues that way, it is quite clear that in next ten years or so the situation will be far deeper. However, it then becomes the issue of personal priorities how we see these things in our social society. People have different aims and objective in their lives and in this materialistic world the capitalism has become very important critically dictating the fact the shaping of human life will now be dependent upon how the economy works and independent of any emotions that could allow them to bear a child (Baumgardner, 2000). The situation in ten years will reveal how the materialistic society has changed the absolute nature of man.
