Last Airbender Movie
The Last Airbender movie, based on the original Nickelodeon series, is under the talented hands of M. Night Shyamalan. The series has become a hit with the world, and the world is looking forward to the Last Avatar Movie in the beginning of July 2010! The story is about Aang, the last airbender, who is also the Avatar(savior of the four nations). The flick, in its trailers, looks absolutely fantastic and characters look more than awesome. The movie also includes some refreshing changes, which differentiate it from Avatar The Last Airbender anime series. This will surely provide a new crisp and flavor to it.
More into the plot, the Last Airbender movie is about a boy who has spent 100 years stuck in an icecube and now he’s supposed to master all four elements and save the world. During this fascinating adventure, he meets Katara, a young courageous waterbender along with her brother Sokka (brave yet wacky) who help Aang the Avatar on his journey. And if you have seen the tv series you know that you can’t forget his two flying sidekicks, Appa and Momo.
Avatar: The Last Airbender (also knows as Avatar: The Legend of Aang) was popular with both audiences and critics, garnering about 5.6 million viewers on its best-rated showing and receiving high ratings even outside its 6–11-year-old demographic. Avatar has been nominated for and won awards from the Annual Annie Awards, the Genesis Awards, the primetime Emmy awards and a Peabody Award among others. The first season’s success prompted Nickelodeon to order second and third seasons.
The man credited for making The Last Airbender movie happen is M. Night Shyamalan. Shyamalan is very much aware of the pressure that surrounds the last airbender movie. The last two films he made, Lady In The Water and The Happening, were disappointments at the box office. Paramount has put a bid of confidence on both Shyamalan and the materials (the avatar series) by placing the movie release date in a Prime Time Summer real estate. He knows what the world wants of him, and he seems to be enthusiastic about the film, it looks very promising.
