Give me a bigger car already

I’ve been in my current sales role for just over a year; I travel the length and width of the country selling the latest technology to small to medium size businesses. I’ve been doing really well in this role, I’ve been meeting and beating my targets on a regular basis, last quarter I was the best selling sales man and got given employee of the month for December.

When I was appointed this role the sales director gave me a company car, it’s a nice 3 door Audi A3. But, because it is a 3 door I’ve had to keep my BMW 5 series for personal use, it’s very difficult to transport a family of four in a 3 door. Ideally I would prefer just to have the one car as it would save me an arm and leg on insurance, road tax and maintenance.

Our company has a company car structure, whereby if you reach a certain number of sales within a set period of time you are eligible for a better company car, it works as an incentive. I met the criteria for a 4 door Audi A4 last September but, the fleet management services people tell me they just cannot get hold of any Audi A4 models at the moment. They must be good if money can’t buy them!
Being a company car I’ve opted for the 2.0 litre diesel which has 168bhp and can do 0-62mph in 8.6 seconds, not bad for an executive saloon car. The fuel economy is really good too, on a combined cycle it can return 55 miles to the gallon; on the motorways it should do 68.9 miles to the gallon. As it’s a company car I will not have to worry about maintenance or repairs.

I’ve been told I should have one in March, as soon as I do, I’m going to put my 5 Series up for sale it’s getting a bit old and tired now and I definitely could do with saving a few pounds.
