LG BD570 is a solid Blu-ray player that shows solid Blu-ray picture quality and comes with long list of features such as built in Wi-Fi and Netcast features like Netflix, CinemaNow, Vudu, Pandora and YouTube. The BD570 looks similar to its predecessor but doesn’t come with any 7.1 channel analog audio outputs. One of the notable features in this model are built in Wi-Fi, excellent picture quality and Netcast streaming services including Netflix, Picasa, Vudu, Pandora and YouTube. There are lots of manufacturers in the market who are offering Blu-ray players with Netflix and built in Wi-Fi capabilities. The player is quite bulky as compared to previous model but looks sleek than Sony BDP-S360. It has more slim like profile by measuring 1.7 inches tall, 16.9 inches wide and 8 inches deep. The front panel has a shiny black finish which flips down to reveal the USB port and disc tray. It is reasonably attractive looking Blu-ray player but doesn’t provide a high end feel.
The remote control included in LG BD570 is redesigned as compared to previous model with shiny black surface that looks slim when you take it out of the box. The directional pad of remote control is surrounded by six different buttons which is more cluttered as compared to other Blu-ray players in the market. One of the best features found in this model is YouTube layout which is very fast and easy to browse videos. Like the previous model it is equipped with built in Wireless-N, but it is not a unique feature as it is already seen in other models like Sony BDP-S570, Insignia NS-WBRDVD, Samsung BD-C6500 and Toshiba BDX2700. LG said that one of the major strength of this player is online media streaming services such as Netflix, Weather, YouTube, Picasa, Pandora and Vudu.
There is another solid Blu-ray player manufactured and launched by LG Company in the market called LG BD 390 that comes with excellent image quality on Blu-ray movies, 1GB of onboard memory, integrated 802.11n Wi-Fi, 7.1 analog audio outputs, Netflix, YouTube, and CinemaNow streaming, onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, superfast disc loading, Profile 2.0 compatible and plays music, videos, and pictures off a connected USB drive or over network. In terms of design, the BD 390 has more refined and conventional look with reflective shiny faceplate at the front accented by sliver strip metal. The user experience of this particular model is similar to Roku Digital Video Player. Overall it is one of the premium standalone Blu-ray players.
