Five Linx
The first time i had heard of five linx was at chuck e. cheese for my little cousins birthday party. A man in a suit approached me and asked if i was employed, had a cell phone, and various odd questions. He began to explain himself and the need to ask such awkward questions. He stared off with this long story about communication and how who he works for is revolutionizing they way both business and people communicate. Five linx is a sort of broadband or fiber optic’s that can transmit video calls to cell phones, t.v’s, or a personal line. This man was in the business of selling these systems and requiting people to do the same. He seemed vary interested in employing me and judging by his suit I was listening. After reading some of the pamphlets i had mailed to me and talking to different people about it i had realized it was not for me. Being a sales man takes a certain creed of man. Knowing that i could swindle someone not as smart as me into a product they do not really need would make for many sleepless nights. Since then i have seen many ads and news spots. They are an expanding henrietta based telecommunications company. Much like harris, or paytec communications, the market in Rochester for telecommunications companies like five linx is expanding. Five linx just hired a lot of people and expanded there henrietta location to make room for the recent boom in the telecommunication industry. One of the reports i had seen about them said that Rochester is a booming place for this new form of business. With harris, frontier, time warner, and five linx in Rochester this puts us in new wave of technology and hopefully better emonomy.
