Difficult customers
I have been working at a Mitsubishi Dealer for over a year now, but I have never come across a difficult customer till yesterday. For the first time I felt like walking out of my workplace, the couple who came to buy a car made me want to pull my hair out.
It had been a very quite week, so I was very glad to see a couple walk into the showroom, as they looked like potential buyers. Before I showed them any of the cars, I wanted to have a chat to get an idea of what they were looking for.
After our brief chat, I took them over to our latest arrivals which were slightly over their budget but they didn’t seem to mind. It was all going great, they chose the car they wanted and then it all went downhill after that.
They wanted a discount on the car, which I done as it was on offer but they wanted more on top of that. I explained to them that the car they chose was fully equipped, so I couldn’t reduce it anymore than I already had but then they asked me to take some of the things out of the car and reduce the price.
On any other car it would have been possible but with the car that they had chosen, it was impossible as everything came standard, and it meant I couldn’t take anything out of it. The couple just didn’t seem to understand that and kept saying the same thing over and over again. In the end I gave up, so I passed them on to my manager.
